These three lakes with some 10 miles of shore line, provide numerous recreational opportunities for residents of Fairfield Plantation. The largest, beautiful, 275 acre Lake Tara is the sparkling centerpiece of the community. The mirror-like tranquility of the lakes at sunrise echo with a special kind of music as lake and shore birds of all kinds greet the morning with song, protected by our status as a wild-life preserve. Reflections of the shoreline disappear when gentle breezes ruffle the surface and early fishermen move quietly from one cove to another, looking for those elusive bass. Later, the lake explodes with activity as pontoon boats, jet skis, and water skiers take over the water, swimmers fill the beaches and picnickers
dot the grassy shore. Tranquility returns when glorious sunsets paint glittering ruby pathways to the far shore and, after dark, beavers ply their age-old search for tender trees along the shores.
